Join the Queensland Wind Orchestra conducted by David Law for an afternoon of cinematic and classic brilliance.  You will be transported through the iconic soundtracks of some of the greatest films ever made from the sweeping scores of epic blockbusters to the artistry of orchestral classics.   Afternoon tea or wine and cheese bookings can be made by calling  the Brisbane City Hall Concierge Desk on 0457 068 055

Bands in Parks: Banyo Community Qld Day Celebrations

The Banyo District Community is pleased to announce the return of the annual Banyo Queensland Day Celebrations. This free community event will kick off Queensland week 2025 with music, stalls and food in the park. . Bands in Parks will be presenting a performance by the Swingalicious Big Band.

Bands in Parks: Government House Open Day

Champion Brass Band, Brisbane Excelsior plays in the grounds of Government House for the first Open Day of the year. They will be joined by the magnificent Qld Irish Association Pipe Band. The historic residence will be open for tours, so enjoy an afternoon in the beautiful grounds of Government House with friends and family.

Bands in Parks:Rotary Family Fun Day

Join the local bayside community with the Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly and local bands including Bayside Brass and Wynnum High School band in a free day of music and entertainment. There will be free sausages, popcorn, fresh fruit and free activities for all ages that include the ever-popular baby animal farm, face painting, balloon twisting, tug of war, and much more.

Bands in Parks: Tutus and Tiaras

Put on your best tutu or dance costume and join us for a fun morning of activities at the botanic gardens, where the little dancer in your family can adorn themselves with botanicals (fairy wand, princess tiara or floral bracelet) before dancing to the music of Bardon Strings. Bring a picnic lunch for the Bandstand lawn and enjoy the music and dancing. Ideal for children aged 4-11 years.

Bands in Parks: Having a Whale of a Time

Get ready for a fantastic morning of music at the Wynnum Whale Park. The South of the River Community Band will be performing a fun and eclectic mix, featuring tunes from Barbie movie and Taylor Swift hits to classic rock anthems by INXS and Queen. You’ll also enjoy nostalgic melodies from Astro Boy and Sesame Street, plus rousing marches and Broadway favourites. It’s a concert for everyone!

This upcoming concert for young and old, the South East Queensland Big Band are on a mission to make your toes tap, your hips sway, and your fingers click. Music from the 70s, 80s and some spicy latin classics thrown in.  Come find the groove with SEQ Big Band!

Bayside Brass will bring their unique sounds to the Bands in Parks program. Come and enjoy the music at the Thomas Dixon Centre as part of Brisbane Open House.  Brisbane Open House is a free annual event, providing residents and visitors with the rare opportunity to discover the hidden wealth of architecture, engineering, and history. Bayside Brass will entertain guests with a lively hour of brass favourites on the terrace.

Brisbane Open House is a free annual event, providing residents and visitors with the rare opportunity to discover the hidden wealth of architecture, engineering, and history. Come down to Racecourse Rod and enjoy an hour of symphonic sounds from the Brisbane Municipal Concert Band at St Augustine’s church featuring music from John Williams, the stirring sounds of Bolero and the heartbreaking On a Hymnsong of Phillip Bliss.

Bands in Parks: Jazz at Sunset

Soak up the city skyline with the smooth sounds of the Jindalee Jazz Orchestra on the Kite Terrace at Thomas Dixon Centre. This vibrant band brings an hour of toe-tapping jazz in an open-air setting, as the sun goes down.

 Brisbane Brass conducted by Elena Katahanas will be playing popular band favourites. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon of wonderful entertainment with a light and lively brass concert with marches, movie tunes and melodic brass. Tape your toes to the rhythms and enjoy this fantastic free concert in the beautiful surrounds of UQ Brisbane City.

Bands in Parks: Bands at City Hall

Explore the beauty of Brisbane City Hall and a free concert in the Main Auditorium of City Hall with the South East Queensland Symphonic Winds featuring 60 talented musicians in an afternoon concert showcasing some timeless British classics including Fantasia on British sea songs and the soaring masterpieces of Gustav Holst and Sir Edward Elgar.

Bands in Parks: Community Train Day

Ormiston Heritage Pipes and Drums will entertain the crowds at monthly Train Day at Bracken Ridge.  Treat the kids to a ride on a real steam train organised by the Bracken Ridge Central Lions club. There will be community stalls and food available for purchase.
